Before the birth of the first child, the mother has the symptoms of pregnancy: nausea, vomiting, pain in the lower abdomen, tiredness… The father is as disoriented as he is scared and happy. The grandmother and grandfather believe that they are giving birth again and want to be responsible for the matter.
Brothers, uncles, nephews… all have opinions about the new being and the conditions to be promoted for him. As if that wasn’t enough, neighbors and close friends also join the “party”.
There is never a lack of a lady who makes the new mother sit in a chair to take the knife and scissors test and thus know if the baby is female or male.
Well then, each person with their culture and beliefs participates in some way in the preparations and arrival of the firstborn.
Someone comes up with suggestions on which side to sleep, what foods to eat to prevent nausea…
The couple’s friends comment on the pregnant woman’s new clothing, if the so-called “loose ones” have gone out of fashion, if now it’s okay to wear tights, if they are better or worse than skintight dresses…
Friends, already with children, will talk about how difficult the first few months after the baby is born. Childless friends will perhaps comment that it would have been better to postpone the pregnancy until they were better prepared.
Anyway, suddenly the baby growing inside the uterus and who doesn’t know anything about what happens “outside” attracts everyone’s attention.
The agitation when childbirth approaches
The months before delivery are as complicated as they are fun with regard to the many preparations and advice everyone has to give. But the weeks leading up to the indicated date become much more tense.
The child will be born and no one knows what it will call it! Grandparents like the classic names: Helena, Rosa, Amália if she’s a woman; Geronimo, Antônio, Diego if he is a man. The younger members prefer Yania, Alex, Arianna… And the parents don’t know how to name the new creature.

It’s just that the new member’s needs become something that everyone has a priority. But nervousness about his birth clouds the minds of his family members.
