Improving attention is one of the most frequent challenges parents face with their children on a daily basis. If we start to put into practice the exercises recommended to help improve this aspect, the results can favor not only this process, but also the relationship between parents and children.

Sometimes lack of attention is a bigger problem than we think, it’s easy to see adults who demonstrate that they have survived a behavioral syndrome. However, the desire of every mother is that her children overcome this situation so that they are not present in any way in their adult stage.

When our children begin to show signs of frequent distraction, we need to be alert to the possible interaction with other symptoms of a major disorder. In general , attention deficit is related to any element that slows down the process itself. In other words, it is not necessary to reach the stage of total insufficiency of attention to start worrying, it is enough when you notice that there is any type of abnormality.

This behavioral disorder is directly related to hyperactivity. Thus, it is possible to notice that our children are a little hyperactive, but perhaps we will not be satisfied with the idea of ​​facing a more serious problem.

1 – Start by helping to set clear goals and objectives: the best thing in these cases is to suggest short-term goals. This makes it  mandatory to plan properly. Furthermore the results can be fulfilled quickly.

2 – Try to create a suitable environment : sometimes parents themselves create distractions in their children, so we must avoid overloading the environments with possible distractions. Create a suitable environment for each activity, making them relate to your purpose.

3 – Use study tools : even if the children have not reached a very advanced level of education, we can incorporate study techniques useful for your case. For example, structuring information into schematics, writing summaries, and marking text  can help achieve the goal of studying without distractions.

4 – Identify the cause of inattention: perhaps we can think that a certain element of our environment should not be a reason for distraction for children, but it is likely that the smallest object will cause lack of interest in their studies. Try to identify the interest they show in a particular element and eliminate it immediately.
